Hertswood's Spring Term 2026 has been full of events and excitement, and we are delighted to share some of the highlights with you!
From dance to dissection, careers to costumes, staff and students have made the best of the spring season. Students have shown academic advancement, taken part in an array of activities, and shown their confidence and determination. We are incredibly proud of all our students and staff for making this term so special!

Highlights from the Spring Term have included...
- Hertswood continued to celebrate its Ofsted success, while making even more advances with major investment in new technology.
- Our young performers took part in Dance Live! 2026, sharing a video of their journey through to the incredible event, and the full video of their outstanding performance!
- We welcomed guests to the Academy, including a Holocaust speaker, fantastic table tennis players, primary school students for a dissection workshop, and parents for a coffee morning.
- Further visits to Hertswood focused on careers, including medical career insights for our Sixth Form, and a presentation on arboriculture.
- Students took part in an array of trips, including gaining confidence through sports, an inspiring performance of 'Into the Woods', and capturing the views at Kew Gardens.
- We shared our brilliant Winter Rewards Disco for Year 7, who also joined staff in celebrating World Book Day with a variety of impressive literary costumes, and took on Mr Gillett's excellence challenge.
- Year 8 students showed a lot of creativity, with lamps in Product Design, and placards in Drama.
- We shared our focus on oracy through this term, and our student wellbeing ambassadors shared their thoughts on '5 Ways to Wellbeing.'
- Hertswood received the thanks of some of its charity partners, looked back on a Christmas of generosity, and received more in the form of a drum kit donation for our Music department.
- The Academy was ecstatic to recognise the efforts and achievements of so many in our community, including our Year 7 awards winners, the British Empire Medal earned by Ms Inwood, and our Diamond Award winners at their well-deserved tea party!
