Brechtian Placards
Back
Our Year 8 Drama students have been brilliantly exploring the work of German practitioner Bertol Brecht. For their latest project, Mr Hollett, Head of Drama, challenged the classes to develop performances that utilised key Brechtian strategies, including the use of placards to communicate clear, impactful messages to their audience.
While many students focused their performances on the important theme of internet safety, which was suggested by Mr Hollett, others took the opportunity to highlight various topics they felt passionate about. The standard of work was exceptionally high, with every performer earning House points for their creativity. A special congratulations goes to our winning group: Nebojsa, Riley-James, and Daniel, as well as our standout solo performers: Caitlin, Laylah, and Riley-James.
