Award-Winning Dance Performance

What an incredible night for Hertswood Academy! After six years away from competitions like this, our Key Stage 3 dancers took to the Dance Live! stage and absolutely shone. Mrs Jamieson, our Head of Dance, was moved to tears by their performance, and rightly so! The dedication shown by our students since October, rehearsing after school, truly paid off.

The performance, a heartfelt story of a nervous Year 7 student finding her confidence, was a huge hit. Our dancers embodied motivating figures of strength, fearlessness, and joy, bringing the tale to life with energy and skill. The competition was fierce, with many elite performing arts colleges taking part, but our students rose to the challenge, appreciating the talent of others while delivering a show-stopping performance of their own. We even won an award for our fantastic costumes!

A huge thank you to our incredible Sixth Formers who managed the lighting, video, hair, makeup, and kept our younger students calm. We also appreciate the support of all the staff and parents who helped with costumes, choreography, transport, and more.

Our students not only impressed with their performance but also with their exemplary conduct, praising and supporting the other schools throughout the day. Returning home late last night, there are sure to be some sleepy heads today, but their hard work and dedication made Hertswood proud. We can't wait to share the official video with you soon!
