Budding Botanists

Year 7 students at the Academy recently delved into the fascinating world of botany with some hands-on plant dissections. These budding scientists explored the intricate details of floral organs, from the pollen-producing anthers to the ovules nestled within the ovaries.

The dissection activity provided a valuable lesson in the processes of pollination and fertilisation, and how flowers eventually develop into the fruits we enjoy.  It was a great opportunity for our students to learn by doing, and to gain a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
