A Watermelon Cell

Two of Hertswood's eager A-Level Biology students took their learning to a whole new level with a delicious and memorable revision resource.

Tasked with creating a revision resource for the topic of 'cell structure', Jessica and Leland decided to think outside the box (or should we say, outside the cell?). Using a watermelon, a kiwi, and an assortment of colorful sweets, they constructed an incredibly detailed and edible 3D model of a cell.

The watermelon served as the cell membrane and cytoplasm, while the kiwi cleverly represented the nucleus. Carefully chosen sweets were used to depict the various organelles within the cell, making the complex structure both visually appealing and easy to understand.

Of course, no such masterpiece could go undocumented! A "cell-fie" was needed to commemorate the occasion, capturing the students' ingenuity and creative thinking.
