Exciting Flight Experience

Before the summer break, a group of hard-working Year 9 students earned the fantastic opportunity to take to the skies at London Elstree Aerodrome, thanks to the Air League Trust.

After attending a series of online conferences and working on independent learning modules, the students were selected based on the amount of work they had completed. On 11th July they took to the sky at the Aerodrome, with aircraft and trained pilots provided by Flight Training London.

In addition to the hands-on flight experience, their visit also included a tour of the Aerodrome, and a flight simulator competition, which was won by Ella.

Representatives from Boeing, BAE Systems and British Airways gave talks at the event, and Hertswood's students engaged with them fantastically, paying close attention and asking excellent questions.
