Hustings at Hertswood
BackWith the General Election next week, Hertswood was delighted today to welcome the prospective Hertsmere candidates and representatives to the school to take part in an Question Time debate, expertly moderated by our former student and founder of the 93% Club, Sophie Pender. The crowd included Sixth Form and Year 10 students, several Hertswood alumni, and visiting students from Elstree Screen Arts Academy.
All of the questions asked were selected by students and asked by them directly, covering a range of topics including funding for education, a minimum wage for under 18s, and current global affairs. The event gave the students a lot to consider about what choice they might make when they are allowed to vote for the first time.
The Academy is grateful to all of the candidates for giving their time to participate in the hustings, and to answer individual students' questions afterwards.
