Learning About Homelessness

Today Year 8 gave a warm welcome to Laura, a guest speaker from the 'Herts Young Homeless' charity. The visit compliments the students' Literacy classes, where they have been reading 'Stone Cold' by Robert Swindells, which tells the story of a teenager who is homeless in London.

With Laura, the group explored and shared what 'home' means to them, and learned about the different aspects to what 'being homeless' can mean. They discovered how people in need can reach out for help, both in Hertfordshire and in other areas.
