Celebrations and the House Cup
Back
This week in our year group Celebration Assemblies, Hertswood staff were excited to recognise the incredible successes of our students throughout the year, and to finally reveal the winners of the 2025-26 House Cup!
Each assembly began by celebrating our Bronze, Silver, and Gold Star Award winners—students who have earned more than 400, 800, and 1,400 House Points this year, as well as those who achieved an incredible 2,000 points or more were honoured with our prestigious Diamond Award.
We also announced nominees and winners in each year group for our Hertswood Values of Courtesy, Aspiration, Integrity, Resilience, and Respect, alongside the Tutor Group of the Term and Student of the Term winners.
After our recent fantastic Sports Day, with some great teamwork and competitive spirit, we announced the event's results. After taking first place in Javelin, Shot Put, 200m, 300m, and 100m Relay, the winning House was Somerville. They were followed closely in the standings by Nuffield, Darwin, and Cavendish.
However, the Sports Day points were not quite enough to secure the ultimate prize for Somerville. With massive cheers from their students, Darwin was crowned the 2025-26 House Cup winners, triumphantly winning it back from last year's champions, Cavendish. We congratulate Darwin House on their outstanding work all year, and applaud every single student for making this a successful academic year.
Several of our Students of the Term and highest House Point scorers met with Mrs Gill after the assemblies for a picture. Look out for more highlights from our recent Awards Evenings after the summer break, as well as from Mrs Gill's Diamond Tea Party for the Diamond Award winners.
