Last half term was incredibly busy for our Year 12 students, all with an eye on their exciting futures! It kicked off with a trip to the University of Bedfordshire for the UCAS Discovery Exhibition, where they chatted with countless universities and employers about their next steps.

Our annual 'Futures Days' event was a huge success! Students gained valuable insights into budgeting from Herts Young Homeless, learned about university life from the University of Hertfordshire, and started their UCAS applications, focusing on shortlisting universities and crafting standout personal statements. We also welcomed Amazing Apprenticeships who spoke to the entire year group. To top it off, students honed their interview skills in a workshop and put them to the test in mock interviews with fantastic local community volunteers, including Hertswood alumni!

The group even had an impactful visit to White Watch at Borehamwood Fire Station, learning vital lessons on what to do if they encounter an accident and understanding the serious consequences of road traffic incidents. Their final week ended with a fun trip to London for a live Monopoly challenge, putting their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test. What a brilliant way to finish the year!
