Hertswood Academy is delighted to announce excellent A-Level and vocational results, continuing our trend for improved performance across our Sixth Form. This success ensures that the majority of our students will be able to progress to their chosen university, apprenticeship, or employment opportunities. Destinations for the cohort include Leeds, Exeter, Kings, Nottingham and Queen Mary.

We are proud to report that an incredible 75% of students studying A-Level achieved a grade from A*-C, and 68% of students studying BTEC courses achieved Distinction*-Merit, representing an increase in achievement across the Sixth Form.

Our top students in 2025 were:

  • Aryan Houshmand - A* A* A
  • Amy Humberstone - A* A* B
  • Scott Hatton - A A A
  • Jessica Manly - Distinction* A B
  • Daniela Mena - A A B

The leadership team at the Academy expressed immense pride in the students' accomplishments, with Executive Headteacher, Peter Gillett, saying 'We are incredibly proud of all our Sixth Form students and their fantastic achievements this year.'

'These results are a direct reflection of students’ perseverance and we wish all our departing students the very best as they embark on their next exciting chapter. We would also like to thank our Sixth Form team, led by Carey McFerran, and all of the teachers and families who supported the students during their time here.' -Wanda Gill, Headteacher

Hertswood’s strong results demonstrate the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success. The Sixth Form continues to grow, providing a supportive and ambitious environment for our students to thrive. The entire Hertswood community celebrates these accomplishments and looks forward to hearing about the future successes of its alumni.
